Gary Simat is a technology entrepreneur, operator, and advisor with more than two decades of experience building, scaling, and operating managed services, cloud, and security platforms. He is the former CEO and Co-Founder of Performive, a secure managed cloud and IT services provider that he founded and led until the company was acquired in 2024.
Following that transaction, Gary partnered with a lower middle market private equity firm to acquire RedZone Technologies, where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. RedZone is being built as an AI-native secure IT services platform focused on continuous posture, resilience, and compliance for regulated mid-market and enterprise organizations. The platform strategy emphasizes disciplined execution, operational visibility, and scalable service delivery, supported by selective M&A and productized service development.
Throughout his career, Gary has focused on translating complex infrastructure, cloud, and security environments into outcome-driven operating models that scale under private equity ownership. His experience spans data center operations, multi-cloud architecture, cybersecurity, global service delivery, and M&A-led growth.
In addition to his operating role, Gary is active as an advisor and investor, working with founders and leadership teams on platform strategy, operational scaling, go-to-market execution, and private equity readiness. He is a member of the Forbes Technology Council and an advisor to Curricula, a security awareness and phishing simulation platform.
Gary has been a Mentor and Charter Member of TiE Atlanta since 2019. He is committed to helping entrepreneurs navigate the realities of company building, from early execution through scale, governance, and exit. His mentoring approach is direct, practical, and grounded in real operating experience.
