TiE ACCESS, launched in 2020, is a diversity, equity and inclusion program that aims to pave in-roads for minority and women-owned businesses to build their companies and networks not only here in Atlanta, but at an international scale, thanks to TiE Global’s global impact.

About TiE Atlanta Angels

This is the angel investment group of TiE Atlanta which has made $9.4 million in investments in 44 companies since 2017 with a primary focus on high-growth entrepreneurial startups in the Eastern US across all industries. The angel group has worked on a disciplined investment model and has invested in companies seeking Seed through Series A funding.

TiE Atlanta is a top five chapter of TiE Global, a nonprofit that generates prosperity through development of entrepreneurs in all stages by creating community and beneficial relationships to support them. Timeline

February 20: Online Application opens. 

May 1: Online Application deadline (applications are closed).

May 15: Semi-Finalists Chosen, Request for Additional Due Diligence. 

June 6 at 5 PM: Finalists & Mentors Announced (calendar invites sent by 6/2/23). 

July 29: ACCESS Mock Round. 

August 9: ACCESS Happy Hour. 

August 19: ACCESS Investor Showcase. 

Qualifications to Apply

To qualify, companies must meet the following criteria:

Investments

Investments – subject to invest-ability due diligence to be finalized post the showcase event on 19-Aug.

FIRST PLACE – Up to $150,000 & opportunity to present at TiECON Atlanta 2023

SECOND PLACE – Up to $100,000

THIRD PLACE – Up to $75,000

All finalist companies will receive: Three (3) months’ of mentorship from two experienced entrepreneurs or executives;  Two (2) tickets to TiECON Atlanta 2023 on September 14, 2023; One (1) year of TiE Atlanta membership for up to 2 co-founders.

The top female-led company will also be offered a slot to represent TiE Atlanta at the TiE Women’s global pitch competition at the TiE Global Summit in Q4 in Singapore.

Dr. Noze Best is the baby tech company that is modernizing the baby nursery and empowering parents to keep their children safe with health and wellness products.

MyUTI

MyUTI is a modern pelvic health company, pioneering precision medicine for pelvic health. Starting with advanced testing and treatment guidance for the second most common infection in the US – Urinary Tract Infections.

Pruuvn

Pruuvn supports the gig economy by providing innovative tools that use AI and blockchain technology. Its goal is to simplify the process of verifying and onboarding contractors while ensuring compliance. By leveraging blockchain technology, Pruuvn developed a platform that allows for seamless credentialing, onboarding, and compliance monitoring with just one click.

ValetPress

ValetPress is developing a procurement and managed laundry service platform that enables companies to order, manage, schedule, and track their orders & services from anywhere, anytime.

Mentors

Each company will also have a team of mentors to prepare them for the showcase who have dedicated time and resources to each founder to be best prepared for the Investor Showcase on Aug 19, 2023 at Atlanta Tech Village. Since ACCESS’ founding in 2020, mentors have provided over 250 hours of mentoring and coaching to the founders in the cohort.

Partners

The following corporations, municipalities, and organizations are also partnering with ACCESS to provide more opportunities and access to resources to founders.

City Partner: City of Dunwoody  – The city has sponsored TiE Atlanta’s ACCESS program in a strategic partnership with TiE Atlanta to grow its entrepreneurship strategy.

Corporate Partner: TowerPoint  – The telecommunications infrastructure and real estate investment company, headquartered in Midtown Atlanta, will provide mentoring in investments and finance to ACCESS finalists.

Community Partner: State Farm  – The State Farm is providing full access to its parclink™ venue located in Dunwoody for the program’s mock rounds on July 29, 2023.

Ecosystem Partner: Collab Capital  – The Collab Capital is an early-stage investment fund built by experienced founders, operators, and investors, who designed a new approach to effectively support, grow, and sustain Black-owned innovative businesses through financial, human, and network capital.
